Digitoc Media – Digital Training

Derived from the Irish word for digital = digiteach (pronounced dij-i-tok) and the combination of the words digital and training


 

Trainer – Miriam Walsh, BA in Journalism.

Web Design and Photo-Editing Tutor

Miriam has over 5 years experience working with local, national and international media organisations. Previously she has worked with Irishdeafkids.ie. A Dublin-based non-profit social enterprise whose mission is to support inclusive education for children with hearing issues in Ireland while empowering parents to develop their child’s full potential

Most recently she worked with City of Cork V.E.C in developing an iTunes U online learning platform for its three city centre colleges (Cork College of Commerce, St. John’s Central College and Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa,) Her roles included multimedia creation and graphic design.

  • Completion of Apple Bootcamp – Technology in Education 2011
  • Qualifications from Digital Skills Academy 2010 – these include Train the Trainer, Work Placement, Digital Photography, Multimedia and The Internet

Trainer – Simon Doherty, Web Design Specialist

Technical Support

Simon has over 10 years web design experience. Adapting to changing times he has worked with traditional software Dreamweaver as well as content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress. Most recently Simon was involved in setting up an iTunes U online learning platform for three city centre colleges (Cork College of Commerce, St. John’s Central College and Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa,) His roles included film creation and editing. During this time he also designed St. John’s Central College new website.

Peter has over 8 years experience working in Marketing and Rural Development roles. Most recently he has worked in freelance webdesign and in a marketing role with City of Cork V.E.C in developing an iTunes U online learning platform for its three city centre colleges (Cork College of Commerce, St. John’s Central College and Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa,)
